Lori Horowitz                                   Bio

Lori Horowitz is a NY native, with a BFA in Visual Arts from SUNY Purchase. Further studies with a concentration in set design and scenic art from Cobalt Studios, NY.

She is a multi-faceted artist, with emphasis in sculpture, painting and set design. She has educated students, teaching for six years in theater, film and design. Horowitz has created sculpture and multi- media artwork as well as theatrical sets for network TV /theater and feature films. She is currently a member of United Scenic Artist Union 829.

 

Throughout her career, she continued to produce artwork, exhibiting in galleries and museums throughout the NY area and Great Britain.  In 2013, she opened “Studio 5404 Artspace”, a not-for-profit organization, as curator and executive director for 4 years. Currently , she serves on the Board of Directors  and advisory board for two not- for- profit arts groups. She continues to guest curate shows and concentrates on her own work. Using eclectic techniques and materials, Lori Horowitz explores the overlooked interactions between individuals, exploring their social disconnect as well as common humanity.  Since 2015, she has had six solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows. Recently, her work has been featured in the NY Times, as well as local and international publications, in Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris.
